The kid has a wicked cough/cold combo, so we bought some children’s nighttime stuff to help us her get some sleep tonight. I gave it to her half an hour ago just in case she was one of those kids who gets hyper from cough meds instead of dopey.

The verdict? Full-on dope mode. And under-the-influence Dictator is really complimentary: “Mama, you is wearing a dress? I like your dress. It has dots on it. You look like a strawberry. I love your glasses. They are super cool. Your hair is soft. It is so soft. I like petting it.” 

The compliments in and of themselves are funny enough, but the whole situation is made infinitely better because she’s talking in slow-mo, pawing whatever item she’s talking about at that moment, and giggling at random intervals. 

She’s going to be fun at college.
